Jordyn Tyson is giving NFL teams, scouts and analysts plenty of film to watch before the 2026 draft.
Through six games this season, Tyson has brought in 47 passes to account for 77% of Arizona State’s wide receiver catches.
ESPN’s Jordan Reid projected Tyson going at No. 7 in the draft. With the current NFL standings, that would have him being selected by the New York Giants one pick before the Arizona Cardinals.
Jaxson Dart is showing signs of being the Giants’ next franchise QB, so New York should help him by stocking up on playmakers. With Malik Nabers expected to recover fully from a torn right ACL in time for the 2026 season, drafting Tyson would give Dart another security blanket and a potent one-two punch at wide receiver.
Tyson was the top wide receiver listed, with Reid only projecting three to go in the first round — USC’s Makai Lemon (No. 22) and Ohio State’s Carnell Tate (No. 25) were the others.
Arizona State as a team struggled in its Week 7 loss to Utahbut Tyson was still able to haul in a team-leading eight catches for 40 yards from backup quarterback Jeff Sims.
His 7.83 receptions per game are fourth in FBS, while his seven receiving touchdowns are tied for second-most.
Reid projects Cardinals to target O-line help
With the eighth pick, Reid projected the Cardinals to select Utah offensive lineman Spencer Fano.
Utah’s offensive line shined against ASU, helping the team rush for 276 yards while holding the Sun Devils to only one tackle for loss.
Fano is a punishing run blocker who generates movement with ease. He has allowed only two pressures all season and is an extremely effective, quick-footed pass protector who can mirror edge rushers. Fano and Paris Johnson Jr. could serve as a talented pair of bookends for that Arizona line.
Currently, Arizona have Jonah Williams and Kelvin Beachum opposite Paris Johnson Jr. Williams is set to be a free agent after this season and Beachum will be 37 next season, making offensive tackle a position for the team to look into for a long term investment.
The Cardinals have allowed 18 sacks this season, tied for fifth-most in the NFL.
