Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel are keeping screens out of the picture.
The model revealed that she and the Snapchat founder have very specific rules when it comes to screen time for their sons Hart7, Myles6, and Pierre19 months, as well as Miranda’s son Flynn14, whom she shares with ex-husband Orlando Bloom.
“My husband is very anti-screens for the young ones,” Miranda shared in AND! News’ exclusive sneak peek at her Oct. 20 episode of Dear Media’s The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Showcohosted by Michael Bosstick and Lauryn Bosstick“because that’s the way he was raised.”
But the 42-year-old added that she and Evan, 35, have managed to compromise on some screen time for their older kids.
“I’ve said to him, ‘Look, something that feels good to me is maybe on the weekend or a special occasion, curling up with the kids, [the] 6 and 7-year-old and the teenager if he wants to join in, and snuggling up and watching a movie,” she explained. “And he’s like, ‘OK, but not every weekend.’”

Another special occasion? Summer break, when Hart got some screen time to take part in a program where he learned “a little Minecraft,” according to the Kora founder.
However, the rules are slightly different for Flynn, as Miranda admitted he got a cellphone when he was around 13. And although he doesn’t have any other social media accounts, he does have Snapchat, which she said is “the only way he communicates with his friends.”

“They don’t really text,” she added. “They just Snap each other all day long.”
And Miranda also appreciates that the platform—which Evan founded in 2011—offers programs like the Family Center and The Keys, which “explain some of the dangers that are happening online.”
“You watch it with them, and it explains very simply what could go wrong or how to prevent it and when to reach out to someone if you feel like something’s off,” she noted. “That’s the way we do it at our house.”

As for Evan, the tech CEO previously gave insight into his tech-free parenting philosophy, confessing that he and Miranda realized that having a device was the only way for Flynn to connect with his friends during the pandemic.
“The dam broke and we have not looked back,” he shared during the Cannes Lions Festival in 2023, adding that he makes sure Flynn uses his “critical thinking skills” about information he reads online.
“We encourage [Flynn] to question things,” Evan shared“because of course not everything on the internet is true.”
