Karimnagar: Karimnagar One Town police arrested BRS corporator and two other leaders, who were the followers of former minister and MLA Gangula Kamalakar, on charges of land grabbing following a complaint on Wednesday.
The arrested leaders were identified as 12th division corporator Thota Ramulu, Chiti Rama Rao and Nimmashetty Shyam.
According to the police, one Kotha Raji Reddy, a retired Singareni employee of Bhagat Nagar, lodged a complaint alleging that the three BRS leaders were trying to grab his plot by creating obstacles for the construction of his house and threatening him to vacate the piece of land in prime area by using political influence.
Following the orders from police commissioner Abhishek Mohanty, a case was registered a case against the accused under IPC Sections 447 (criminal trespass), and 427 (mischief and causing damage) and arrested them. Later, they were sent to remand.
