Sidharth Malhotra Interview: On Indian Police Force, Shilpa Shetty, NAIVE Years In Bollywood
It was also Sidharth’s first collaboration with Rohit Shetty and talking about his relationship with him, the actor, in an exclusive chat with ETimes mentioned that the director really spoiled him.He said , “When you have a director like that on that set, who is so much in control and never stressed, you just have to go and follow the instructions. I think it was very relaxing as an actor, as you come and this is your scene, and he would even rehearse certain things with his assistants, so you are just resting on his shoulders.”
When asked if Rohit as a director has spoiled him for his future projects, he agreed and said, “He spoils his actors by precisely telling them what the previous scene was, what the next scene will be, and so on.”
Another aspect of the show that everyone liked a lot is the camaraderie that Sidharth shares with Shilpa and Vivek. Talking about Sid said, “I think we all gelled really well on set. There was a lot of experience that came through. I actually really enjoyed it because at least when you have experienced actors, you can really bounce off them and perform those scenes really well.”
Adding more, Sidharth said, “With Vivek, I connected immediately, as we began talking about things which had nothing to do with movies. Shilpa again, I think is such a great example of embodiment of discipline over 30 years. And she is also such an easy person to get along with; we pulled a lot of jokes on her, but she is such a great sport. She definitely would light up the set, and get away with things that we would not, being the senior most actor that she is.”
Shilpa, in an earlier interview with ETimes, had called Rohit Shetty a ‘tyrant.’ When asked to comment about it, Siddharth said, “As I said, she gets away with much more than what we can. Because it’s possibly a seniority thing. Maybe she is senior to Rohit sir too! And I think everybody has their way of functioning on set.”
