Lakshmi Narayan Gupta, who was the district minister of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, has won the Chhapra Municipal Corporation elections. Lakshmi Narayan Gupta, who is trying his luck in the election field for the first time, has defeated his rival Mintu Singh by 5457 votes. Mintu Singh is the husband of former mayor Priya Singh. Priya Singh died just two months ago. The surprising thing is that Laxmi Narayan Gupta has defeated the candidates supported by RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and his elder son and minister Tej Pratap Yadav.

Tej Pratap Yadav supported Ravi Roshan
In fact, recently RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav had announced his support to Sunita Devi on an open platform. Whereas Tej Pratap Yadav had supported Ravi Roshan. Till the counting of votes was completed, Sunita Devi got 10797 votes, while Tej Pratap supported Ravi Roshan got 3286 votes.
